- Hinduism is the most popular followed religion in Indonesia.
- Bali celebrates a holiday called Nyepi were nobody speaks. During this celebration all businesses are closed so everyone can participate in this “Day of Silence”.
- Bali is known for their dramatic Balinese dances. Dancers start learning their craft as early as the age of 7! Theres three categories of these dances: Wali, Bebali, and Balih-balihan.
- Indonesia is the only place where you can find Sumatran Tigers. These tigers are the smallest tiger subspecies.
Textile and color Info.
- The people of bali practice the Endek patterning technique. This patterning technique usually results in a symmetrical geometric design. Garments were traditionally made in a red fabric, but they have also been made in yellow and green fabric.
- Throughout Balis more traditional apparel there are common themes involving geometric and leafy tropical prints.
- Bali is known for they’re uses of bright colors in just about all of their textiles. There’s not many colors that they stray away from, but they are fond of more vibrant reds, yellows, blues and greens.
